Would you prefer to go to heaven, or be reincarnated?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 26, 2007:

Reincarnation would be based on all the things that the soul recognised as needs, and upon the self definition of the individual.

In a sense, I believe that we go through numerous reincarnations in one lifetime. This is in the way that we morph over and again through our lives, letting go of certain personal attributes and taking on new ones. The motivations for these changes are usually adopted new beliefs about who we are and what we are about. Encounters with the right settings - places and people - prompts us and provides us with the platform to give expression to our beliefs through our adopted personalities.

As I understand it, reincarnation is the act of being born again into the world following death.

If we presume that the motivations for wishing to reincarnate is to live out experiences that we feel that we could not in a previous lifetime because of existing limitations, I would prefer to go to heaven because, certainly, experiences in the reincarnated life would be bound by the environmental and periodic conditions that I reincarnate into. But, especially, my life would be limited or expanded by my thinking.

If heaven is an ideal then I want to experience some of it here on earth in this lifetime, and I want to be ready when the time comes to go to heaven for the full deal. I believe that in defining myself more and more based upon the true nature of my being, I am laying the foundations for a heavenly life in any sphere.
