What question do you believe is unanswerable?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for October 13, 2007:

Ah...the question of unanswerable questions...

‘Can't think of one at the moment, although I have always thought the question: "Why me?" a curious one.

By implication one is often saying: "I have done nothing wrong to deserve this. I have done everything right, I am a good person, so, why would this happen to me?"

After our categorisations of what constitutes good and bad, and after our mental organisations of how the gifts and curses of the world are partitioned, based on the standards that we set up, we settle on the idea that good things should always happen to good people, and bad things could only happen to bad people. But, we are then bemused to find that good things happen to bad people and bad things happen to good people.

There may well be some element of the above hypothesis loaded in the question: "Why me?" when asked in a moment of deep hurt, and confusion.

Some time ago I asked a question along the same lines, and found myself getting rather involved in different ways to consider the question with interest to know what would come back at me. I asked: Why is this happening to me? What is this about? Where is it coming from? Why is this my own? How am I linked to this particular event taking place with me?

I soon developed a habit of objectively questioning events in my life and critically analysing issues that arose with a view to arriving at some sort of clarity. This has led me on a course to maturity based on growing understanding of my nature, and how the way that I experience events create specific future conditions.
